Who we are
Lifted Sites ("we", "us") designs, builds and hosts websites for small businesses in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email us at contact@lifted-sites.com.
What information we collect
When you contact us
If you fill in our contact form or email us, we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, business name, current website and anything you write in your message.
When you visit our website
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use this information to identify you.
We don't use advertising trackers and we don't sell your information.
How and why we use it
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry and discussing a possible project | Steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries |
| Providing services to you if you become a client | Performance of a contract |
| Keeping records for tax and accounting | Legal obligation |
| Keeping our website secure and working properly | Our legitimate interest in running a safe, reliable website |
We won't add you to a marketing mailing list unless you've asked us to.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run our business. They only process your information on our instructions:
- Cloudflare: website hosting, security and form processing
- Resend: delivering contact form submissions to our inbox
- Google Workspace: our business email
- Our CRM provider: keeping track of enquiries and client work
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum.
We may also share information if the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become projects: up to 12 months after our last contact
- Client records: for the length of our work together, then up to 6 years for tax and legal purposes
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that's wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- object to or ask us to restrict how we use it
- ask us to transfer your information to someone else
To use any of these rights, email contact@lifted-sites.com. We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Cookies
We don't use cookies for analytics or advertising, so you won't see a cookie banner on this site.
Cloudflare may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies to protect the site from bots and attacks (for example __cf_bm). These don't track you across other websites and are exempt from consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
If we ever add analytics or other non-essential cookies, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first where required.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
